There is no way to get through this pandemic without a bit of tension and panic. Wearing a mask everywhere, including when I stop by the local store, post office or the town dock… it is necessary to protect self and others.
Texas and Mississippi just announced they were cutting back on mask mandates. Crossing their fingers that something doesn’t go haywire!!!
I think they are foolish and a bit crazy. If it can go wrong, it will. Still… not my immediate problem. Though who knows… if someone I know travels to Texas, gets the bug and then heads back to the Cape… my days could be numbered.
But I am not worried. I stay inside, see very few people and go nowhere except virtually. If I do go to the local market, I have my list, my mask and my shopping bags. I self checkout and spend no more than 5 minutes zipping through the aisles. Can the Covid-19 bug move that fast? Can I outrun the virus cooties???
It is all a mystery to me. Just grateful I’m still standing upright. Getting ready for spring!
Eventually this will be in the rear view mirror. Meanwhile, it’s a good time to focus on things you previously didn’t have time for. High dusting, painting cabinets, playing Rummikub with a com padre, winning at Word Chums twice in a row! Life isn’t soooo bad.
