I’ve been watching TV and listening to the radio during this whole CoronaVirus thing…
I am inspired by all the good people who are doing good things to help others… Nurses, Doctors, Researchers, Scientists… there are thousands of them. And hooray to each and every one.

But it occurred to me this morning as I made my coffee, that there are a lot of hidden heroes that are not so obvious… workers who are still getting up every day to give me service and make my life a whole lot easier…
The workers at the power plant that keep my power on so I can heat water to make coffee….
The workers at the water plant who keep my water running through my pipes so I have liquid for my coffee…
The supermarket and all the workers there that keep supplying me with bags of coffee… so I can enjoy that first cuppa…
And the commentators in the media who are still getting the message out so I can sit and sip and enjoy my first morning cup of Jo and not die by doing something stupid like touching nasty things and spreading the nasty.
I salute these hidden heroes this morning and raise my cup high in praise and thanksgiving.
Just me thinking out loud…
Do you have a hidden hero? Add your two cents below…
My not so hidden heroes are those people who struggle every day to load and deliver all those essentials as well as those non essentials people are ordering to entertain themselves. Those who make those deliveries are putting themselves in danger of catching the virus from all the people they come in contact with during their deliveries. They potentially spread the virus to the workers in the warehouses and on to members of their families.
True. Also postal workers… they deliver the mail like clockwork every day. And thank goodness for the internet wizards who are keeping us all online. What would I do without YouTube? or Comcast?
Too many people to thank.
Yes, one of my heroes is a woman in my poetry group who is a the most caring and generous veterinarian. She just offered masks if we need. Another is the woman who lives upstairs. She works in local public media, leaves every morning, arrives home each evening after long days of making sure the info we all need is available.
I applaud them both.
