We’ve enjoyed some great weather recently… but this week? Now that I am on vacation … it’s four days of misty rain, pouring puddles. Nuts!!!!
Newport is a very walkable city and there is so much to see… historic buildings, the mansions along the Cliff Walk… and public parks, docks, ferry boats…
But on a rainy day, it’s all very bleak… and grey. I have been up and down the nearby streets, visited the ferry dock… it’s not running today… and in a bit of time we are walking to the local antique market, then the Newport Museum, finally arriving at the local theatre… Downtown Abbey is playing… then it’s back home for supper. We are planning on walking – only a mile or so… good exercise even if it is misty… I’d rather take the car but on-street parking is a real bear around here…
If I move the car I’ll never get a parking place again! So we walk.
Seems like a good time despite the mist!
We actually drove to the theatre, after all, stopped at Newport Art Museum as a short side trip… and came back to find a parking spot right in front of our place. Not really surprised. I called on my parking angel… cousin “Alice” and she got the spot for us.!!!!
