Heat can play tricks on motivation. The last couple of days I’ve been motivated to work on my book… wrote several thousands of words — most of them worth keeping… but today, with the whole morning stretching empty and free before me, I’m finding all kinds of piddlin’ jobs to do rather than settle down and just do the work.
I blame the heat— and my vertigo— such as it is. I’m sitting in my office with the AC turned up, so I can’t blame the weather outside… it’s more the weary weather in my head. I find myself needing to lie back and take in a movie…. something I can watch without any effort. Not the news today. Attorney General Bill Barr is blathering away at a Congressional Hearing today… full of too much foolery and untruths. Can’t listen.
I guess I could vacuum the rugs and sweep the kitchen floor, or wash a window or two… but that calls for energy… and today, I’m afraid I am lacking whatever is necessary. So I shall live with the chaos another day. Put my feet up and enjoy what flickers before my eyes. 🙂
It’s true. I am a lazy bum. 😀
I think it is the stress of the pandemic lingering that encourages us all to be less than productive.
