Making Toxic Bread???

Posted on April 8, 2020April 8, 2020 by Pat Mullaly

Yesterday I posted an article about my latest baking adventure.

I’m still trying to figure out what I did wrong with that English Muffin recipe. They were impossible to eat. My sister said they tasted almost “chemical!” Come to find out, she was right.

I was lying in bed last night, going thru the events of the day, thinking, thinking, thinking…. trying to figure out what I did to ruin the muffins. And it finally came to me.

>>>>>>>> I tell you this short tale of woe as a warning to each of you contemplating the making of anything food wise. Here’s what happened.

I followed all the muffin making directions to the letter and double checked the ingredients to be sure they were fresh.

spraying disinfectant

BUT When I kneaded the dough and set it to rise, I did so on the one large cutting board I use all the time when I make bread. The one I had cleaned the day before with disinfectant to prevent the corona virus thingy from killing me. But, I had never washed the board again with soap and hot water. I just left it to dry.!!!! STUPIDO. I’ve been cleaning every surface in my kitchen with a spray disinfectant to keep everything virus free. But never cleaned off the cleaner from the board.

Result: I nearly killed myself and my sister with disinfectant. Good thing I tossed the muffins before my walk at the shoreline or there would be a lot of dead ducks floating!!!

Sigh.

Oh my God…I will never trust your cooking again…try explaining to the police detective that the deaths were accidental!!!!!!

Glad you figured that out. If you’re not going out you might not have to disinfect at home so much.
