The Things I Am Learning!

Posted on April 5, 2020April 5, 2020 by Pat Mullaly

Just got back from the dump (the Barnstable Transfer Station!) pardon me… Not crowded… most people without masks (I didn’t wear one)… but one woman did step back and avoid me for sure.

They have now devoted an entire bin to metal cans. This may seem like nothing to you… but it is a sign to me of how we are evolving during this corona virus thing… Usually there are only a few plastic tubs for collecting metal cans… but this entire 20 foot dumpster was dedicated to metal cans… and it was nearly full. People have discovered soup and vegetables in cans again!! Safer than fresh, I guess… not as good for you, but safer.

…From My Garden

My nephew was kind enough to do my grocery shopping for me. I stopped by his place to pick up his trash and gave him my list. He doesn’t think there will be much to choose from at the store. And I forgot to ask him to buy me soup (in cans! of course)… But I really need flour so I can do some serious cookie baking! We must keep our strength up during these hard times and chocolate chip cookies are known to provide healthy carbs and strong muscles. Honest.

With Easter just around the corner, I should have asked him to buy me some chocolate bunnies! Alas, no chocolate bunnies in my house. But if there’s flour… there will be cookies! 🙂

Hope your day is full of joy and rapture, and hope for the flowers. I just picked a couple of daffodils from my front garden and brought them into the kitchen to help me smile. 🙂

Good morning Mary… glad you are enjoying my odd comments… Makes life interesting…
Right now they are repaving my street and the machines are beeping beeping beeping as they back up and down, spreading asphalt… They would have finished the job a couple of days ago but it rained and we got flooded. Even the spots where they put in new drains were full of water… seems as if they didn’t solve the drainage problem… but we shall see….

Dillard Beach Mystery, A Work in Progress is a work of fiction. Names, characters, business, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental. Descriptions of herbal remedies are invented and should be treated with a large dollop of skepticism.
